Abdullah Al-Magati Okaz/Saudi Gazette JEDDAH – King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, has ordered the payment of SR1,360,696,500 in financial assistance to all families registered in the social insurance system including old people, widows, divorcees, orphans, abandoned women, and women whose breadwinner is absent. This is with the aim of helping them meet their Ramadan requirements. “This amount will be paid to the families registered in the social insurance system the moment it is deposited in the General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI) account,” Dr. Yusuf Al-Othaimeen, Minister of Social Affairs, said in a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA). He said the assistance shows the King's concern for citizens. The monthly financial assistance amount for an individual has been raised to a maximum of SR3000, according new rules for social insurance. A family of 15 members is now allowed to get a maximum amount of SR8670. The maximum age of beneficiaries of fixed assistance, who are not included in the social insurance payment, has been reduced from 40 to 35 years.
