JEDDAH — Sheikh Abdulaziz Aal Al-Sheikh, the Kingdom's Grand Mufti, has called on citizens and expatriate residents as well as Umrah pilgrims to cooperate with organizers of the upcoming Islamic summit in Makkah. The Extraordinary Islamic Solidarity Conference will be held in the holy city on Ramadan 26-27. Underling the need to comply with guidelines laid down by the authorities to facilitate the arrival of the summit guests, Al-Sheikh urged residents and pilgrims to help organize traffic movement in the city during the summit, which coincides with peak days of Ramadan. “Cooperate with officials to make way for the guests of the summit, which is held to protect the interests of Muslims,” said Al-Sheikh. The extraordinary summit will discuss a number of pressing issues, including the conditions in Syria, Burma, Palestine and other parts of the Muslim world.
