Airline offers new A320 planes with upgraded Falcon Gold Class flatbed seating with 180-degree recline.GULF Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, which launched flights to Madinah Al-Munawarah Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz International Airport in June 2010, recently celebrated a successful two years of operations, reinforcing its longstanding relationship with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Gulf Air first flew to Saudi Arabia in 1950 and has been operating to Madinah Al-Munawarah since June 2010. Since then, the airline has continuously expanded and strengthened its presence connecting customers from the far corners of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to regional and international destinations through its vast network. Following the success of Gulf Air's operations to Madinah Al-Munawarah, the airline has increased its frequency from 4 to 6 flights per week in each direction as of May 2012. Gulf Air has also upgraded its aircraft operating to Saudi Arabia with new A320 planes, fitted with Falcon Gold Class flatbed seating with 180-degree recline and a privacy wall for personal space. Economy Class passengers will also see changes in their seating options as the new A320s come with greater leg space. For families, Gulf Air has also launched 'Family First' - a series of competitively priced packages for customers traveling with spouses and children, offering special privileges both on the ground and in the air. This will be an attractive package particularly for Saudi travellers, who often travel with their families on vacation. Of Gulf Air's latest commercial initiatives, the 'Sky Hub' offers the world's first full connectivity onboard long-haul flights with high speed internet, 3G-4G mobile data speed connectivity, voice over the internet (VOIP) i.e. Skype, streaming videos and the world's first in-flight live TV via satellite. Passengers can stay connected in the sky for approximately SR100 for 24 hours. Madinah Al-Munawarah customers have even more convenient choices via Bahrain to connect to Europe, Afghanistan, Kenya and Thailand through Gulf Air and to North America with codeshare partner American Airlines. Customers can also now connect to two more new destinations, Kabul and Peshawar in addition to getting onward connections to Mumbai, Delhi, Kochi and Chennai within one hour via Bahrain.
