DAMMAM – Officers from Tarout police station in Al-Qatif Governorate arrested three young men aged 18-22 after they hurled Molotov cocktails at the station on Wednesday. No one was hurt in the attack which happened after police arrested a drug dealer. Several people were arrested in connection with the attack. A police source said an old sedan approached the police station Wednesday and three young men got out of the vehicle and started hurling Molotov cocktails toward the gate in an attempt to hurt police officers. They sped off in the vehicle after their attempts were unsuccessful. Police arrested them in less than two hours and investigations will reveal more information about the case and the people involved in the attack, the source added. The drug dealer was arrested after he was caught in possession of a large quantity of heroine. Abdul Haleem Aal Kidar, chief of Tarout town, said attacks against security officers are rejected by the people of Al-Qatif. “Security officers are a red line and anyone who dares cross this line will have to face the consequences. We're all citizens of this country and we care about its security and stability under the leadership of King Abdullah, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques." He called upon the wise, sheikhs and the intellectuals in the governorate to mitigate the situation and warn instigators against their actions which harm the country and all citizens. — SG
