JUBAIL – Highway Patrol officers arrested last Wednesday a twenty-year-old African female national who was driving a car on the Jubail Highway. She was pulled over and asked to produce her ID. Confused and scared, she told the officers that she did not realize she was driving outside the premises of the company housing. The officers then asked her to call one of her male relatives but it turned out that she only lives with her mother. Some eyewitnesses blamed the company's security guards saying they should have not allowed the girl to leave the premises of the company in the first place and should have told her that women cannot drive in the Kingdom. Eyewitnesses praised the way officers dealt with the matter and how they eventually calmed down the girl. — SG
