JAZAN — When one hears of an armed robbery taking place, the first thing that comes to mind is a gang of men storming into a store and robbing it gunpoint. However, in this southwest province, four sisters were arrested by police for holding up an ice cream parlor, beating up the store's cashier and making off with SR8,000. The injured cashier said he didn't expect the four veiled women who had just walked into his store to rob him. Recounting the story to police, he said that one of the women asked the man to get her some water. When he went to the back room, the women broke open the cash register and stole the money. The man tried to stop them and they responded by over powering and beating him with their fists, before making off with the cash and his cell phone. —SG
