‘No Iftar donations without approval'

MAKKAH – The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Call and Guidance notified mosque imams to not collect donations for Iftar meals without first obtaining approval from the ministry. Once the permit is obtained, it will be the imam's responsibility to obtain food from approved restaurants. The ministry also notified imams that speakers for Taraweeh prayers are to be limited to the mosque's interior. – SG
