Nada Maddah Saudi Gazette MAKKAH – Abdullah Al-Siwat, the director of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA) branch in Makkah said that the branch had issued 600 licenses to different facilities including hotels and furnished residential units with total number of rooms exceeding 115,000 this year. He added that the branch increased its field inspectors to carry out the SCTA's summer and Ramadan plan during which hotels and facilities will be periodically visited to prevent any attempt to manipulate prices and to catch violators working without licenses. Inspectors will keep a close eye on travel agencies and tourist trip organizers for the same purpose, he said. Al-Siwat urged visitors and pilgrims to make sure that a hotel or any similar facility has a license and prominently displays its room rates. He urged people to contact the SCTA at 8007550000 to report violations or file a complaint. “The SCTA will strictly enforce laws against violators and will shut down facilities which violate these laws.”
