MAKKAH — The Civil Defense in Makkah forced a demolition crew to suspend activity after they discovered neighboring buildings were in danger. The Civil Defense responded to a call from a citizen complaining about demolition work near his house. He said rocks from nearby mountains began falling on his house and cracks were found on the house's walls. The officers immediately stopped the demolition and evacuated nearby homes. Some of the residents were forced to live in furnished apartments until the situation returned to normal. — SG
