Winners crowned at ASTEC ceremony

JEDDAH — After a grueling two months of tennis, opposing teams faced each other not on the tennis court but at a hall here to honor and crown the winners and category champions in their respective categories of the recently-concluded 23rd ASTEC Team Tennis Tournament 2012.
Association of Tennis Clubs, Jeddah, (ASTEC) secretary Chet Bautista welcomed the guests. Also at hand was Reem Riviera's Operation Manager Karn Tabtim, who conveyed the message of thanks of their Chairman, Faisal Al-Shamrani, and their commitment of continued support to the tournaments.
ASTEC chairman Randy Martin then thanked the participants and the officers of Astec for their support. He also thanked Deltaz Marketing thru Tony Kassis and Amin Malik for their continued support. A special intermission number by France Lorin Idjao added spice to the occasion.
Crowned champions in each category were, Team Uricane – Reem Riviera for Class C composed of Ronnie Organo, Gerardo Catalan, Ricky Salazar, Eusebio Castillo, Joe Espiritu, Ebenecer Capalad, Nerio Batestil, Dante Gabrillo and Jonathan Cerezo. Category LMX was ruled by Saudia City Tennis Club – SCTC Pepsi Bugshan with members Ronnie Santos, Ramil Abdua, Henry Siazon, Amin Paraji, Froilan Lim, Mhouz Martinez, Deddy Taryono, Haroun Ratag and Voi Tejada. Category B2 was likewise won by Saudia City Tennis Club – SCTC Pepsi Bugshan team bannered by Francis Balde, Ernie Capito, Sol Bartolome, Ronnie Santos, Ramil Abdua, Amin Paraji, Abdo Poole, Henry Siazon and Efren Bulatao.
In the MMX category it was Red Sea Tennis Players RSTP-1 team that emerged champion with Randy Martin, Ramon Monterde, Tony Mirasol, Ron Valdez, Domelo Gesta, Hussam I-Basha, Joel de Castro, Ramil Abdua and Carmelo Nery. While in the HMX category, it was Jeddah Ranao Tennis Club (JRTC) who reigned supreme thru its players Maarouf Pantaran, Danny Natangcop, Alimbsar Umpa, Lantong Patara, Elias Mangca, Marcial Barro, Arnold Tavera and Allan Beltran.
Best Uniform awards were given to team SCTC – SARED for Category C, Team ELAF in the B2 Category, Team Saudia Catering in the Category LMX and Team DJ Auto Parts for Category MMX.
Best Doubles Players Awardees were Ben Micu/Fritz Perico of Samahang Pinoy Tennis Club (SPTC) for Category C; Ramil Abdua/Mhouz Martinez of SCTC-Pepsi Bugshan for Category LMX; Nilo Borata/Roel Manarang of Friday Bulls – Ed Belen team for Category B2; Elias Mangca/Tuffs Laguindab of Team JRTC for Category MMX and Marcial Barro/Arnold Tavera of Team JRTC for the Category HMX.
