The Civil Defense here has shut down 67 business facilities for violating safety conditions during its safety inspection campaign of more than 943 commercial and industrial establishments, warehouses and festival halls. Capt. Muhammad Al-Hubail, Civil Defense spokesman in Riyadh, said the committee slapped a fine of SR220,000 on a wedding hall for not complying with safety regulations. “The Civil Defense will not hesitate to punish any establishment or installation for putting people's lives in danger,” Al-Hubail added. He urged the owners of all establishments to strictly follow the safety rules, adding that the Civil Defense will continue its inspection campaign.
