Foreign schools can no longer accept donations from abroad, according to directives issued by Crown Prince Naif Bin Abdul Aziz, Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior. The directives also ban activities other than those approved and warn against opening clubs independently. Donations by foreign schools to local bodies should be through approved government institutions and authorities with the approval of the General Administration for Education. Spending from donations for unspecified purposes will be only upon the approval of the Deputy Minister of Education for girls and boys. Donations for specified purposes will be deposited at the Saudi Monetary Agency (SAMA) in various trusts. The Ministry of Education approved a mechanism for implementing the rules and regulations governing donations in kind and cash that reach different education authorities in the Kingdom. The ministry stressed the necessity to comply with these regulations. Anyone who violates these rules will be held accountable, the ministry warned. __
