two Filipinos in Jeddah graduated in the recently concluded 30th Computer Literacy Seminar conducted by the Overseas Filipino Workers Cooperative Council (OFWCC), the organizers said here Monday. Roberto S. Perez Jr., Vice Chairman, OFWCC said the seminar was very successful, and the attendees dutifully attended the eight sessions of the seminars held each Friday, from April 6 to May 25 at La Parilla restaurant. The courses taught at the seminar were: Microsoft Windows 7 Basic Computer Operation, MS Office 2007-Word 2007, Excel 2007, Powerpoint 2007, Access 2007, Adobe Photoshop Image Editing1 and Adobe Photoshop CS3. The lectures were delivered by Robert Perez, Ernesto Geslani, Bernardo Gojo, Jeanifer Decena, Marciano Par, Rashed Reyes, Paul Arenas, Joefrey Caya. As part of their commitment, a financial literacy seminar was also conducted to enhance the knowledge of the attendees, Perez said. Perez thanked all the graduates and said he hoped that the attendees apply the additional information learned in the seminar at their workplaces. He also encouraged those who are not yet computer-literate to join the training sessions in the future. Organized in June 1996 under the auspices of the Philippine Consulate, the OFWCC, a federation of cooperatives operating in western Saudi Arabia, started by organizing entrepreneurship seminars and other skills enhancement program for OFW in line with the Philippine government's re-integration program. Their computer literacy seminars quickly became its leading project and has already produced thousands of graduates.
