QURAYAT — A neighbor of Muhammad Al-Aazmi, the 8-year-old Qurayat boy who disappeared from home and was found dead recently, has been arrested for murdering him, the Qurayat police announced. The boy was kidnapped outside his home about a month ago and his charred body was found 35 km away from his home. His neighbor allegedly killed the boy and burned his body for fear of being discovered. The police earlier announced the arrest of another suspect. However, investigations revealed that he could not have been involved. A team of professional investigators was formed and the real culprit who went into hiding following the crime was finally nabbed. Brig. Daman Al-Darran, Al-Jouf Police spokesman, said police conducted an extensive search and pulled up files of prior criminals and potential suspects. They discovered that a potential suspect who lived near the victim's house vanished shortly after the crime took place. “The neighbor, a 34-year-old Saudi, admitted that he killed the boy and burned his body to destroy all traces of evidence against him. He put the victim's body inside the trunk of his car, drove to a remote place and burned the corpse,” police said.
