The contract was signed by Eng. Fahad Al Mutawae, CEO of Ewaan Global Residential Company, and Eng. Ahmed Al Hares, Vice President of ABB Saudi Arabia and the Western Region Manager. Al Mutawae said the substation will provide all the electrical power required to meet the needs of the Alfareeda project. "Given the Kingdom's high temperatures for most of the year, reliability of the power supply is of the utmost importance and we will draw on ABB's long experience and in-depth expertise in the Saudi market to ensure maximum efficiency in delivery and performance." The signing of this contract is a major step forward and puts the project on target according to the scheduled phasing, he added. Al Hares said the power supply for Alfareeda residential project "is going to be done in accordance with the highest international standards and with every respect for the environment and the architectural integrity of the project." Designed to meet the home ownership aspirations of the Kingdom's middle class, Alfareeda residential project is valued at more than SR1.2 billion and consists of more than 2,000 residential units located on one million square meters of land in New Jeddah to the north of the city.
