MADINAH – A woman was killed and a male relative injured in a fire that broke out Sunday morning in their apartment in Madinah.
Civil Defense rescue units despatched to the scene took the injured couple to the city's King Fahd Hospital where the woman was pronounced dead.
Col. Khalid Al-Juhani, Madinah Civil Defense spokesman, said preliminary investigations showed the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit. Authorities have ordered a thorough inquiry into the accident. __
