The Special Penal Court Saturday looked into cases against three terrorist cells: One involved in the “killing of French nationals”, the other called the “Al-Juwayir” cell and the third known as “Al-Khalidiya apartment” cell. The Prosecutor General leveled charges of sexual harassment against one of the defendants in Al-Khalidiya apartment terror cell. The Prosecutor General also demanded death penalty against five of the accused in the Al-Juwayir cell. Three defendants from the first cell attended the session to reply to the charges leveled against them. Seven defendants from the “Al-Juwayir” cell of 67 attended the session. The Prosecutor General demanded the maximum penalty for money laundering against four defendants, the maximum penalty in the weapons and ammunition regulation against one defendant and the maximum penalty in the border security regulation against another defendant. He also called for confiscating all weapons and ammunition found with the defendant. Four defendants from the “Al-Khalidiya apartment” cell of 86 attended the session. Defendant No. 3 was charged with joining an Al-Qaeda terrorist cell, embracing the Takfiri approach, creating chaos and sedition, participating in terrorist operations, resisting security men, kidnapping several Americans, besides other charges. __
