Despite the growth in the tourism sector in recent years, Saudi citizens remain unaware of the numerous job opportunities in the profitable industry and Saudization rates, particularly among women, remain at low levels. To encourage women to join the tourism sector, Al Hokair Group created the first tourism training center that provides women with the knowledge and skills needed to enter the sector. To effectively target women, Al Hokair collaborated with Glowork, the first website dedicated to female recruitment in the GCC and that has helped over 50,000 women find jobs. “Even though women's role in the workforce is in its infancy, they have proven to be hardworking, reliable and fit the job profile and description, lacking only in qualifications which is why we created the training center,” said Sheikh Abdel Mohsen Al-Hokair, founder of Abdel Mohsen Al Hokair Group for Tourism and Development. The demand for Saudis to join the tourism industry has increased due to the Nitaqat program, which seeks to boost nationalization of jobs in the private sector. __
