Prosecutor General disclosed to a Special Penal Court in Riyadh Monday that it has been proved that the renegade, Saad Al-Faqih, was involved in inciting some of the deviants to carry out terrorist acts in the Kingdom by recruiting a number of people by distributing leaflets. The Special Penal Court started looking into the case filed by the Prosecutor General against 67 people who face charges of joining a terrorist cell belonging to Al-Qaeda under the leadership of Fahd Al-Juwayyir, communicating with Al-Qaeda commanders and members in the country, providing them cover-up and shelter, and not reporting them despite knowing their terrorism plans. Of the 67 defendants, 66 are Saudi nationals while one is a Jordanian. They participated with the commander of the terrorist cell, Fahd Al-Juwayyir, in planning terrorist operations inside the country and securing the needs for that, and assisting terrorists in targeting Abqaiq refinery. They also face charges of terror funding, terrorist acts, supporting the terrorist organization through the media, securing the means of telecommunications, possessing weapons, ammunition and explosives and training on the manufacture and blending of explosive materials, inciting others against the ruler and disobeying him, and joining the terrorist organization in Iraq under the command of the leader of the organization Abu Mus'ab Al-Zarqawi. The first session held by the court was attended by the 1st to 6th defendants. The second session held Monday was attended by the 7th to 12th defendants. The Prosecutor General read out the charges to the defendants. The judge then handed over a copy of the charge sheet to each of the defendants. Eleven of the defendants had requested the services of a lawyer through the Ministry of Justice, which will bear the fees. The 5th defendant requested to present his reply himself. The 9th and 12th defendants requested to appoint two of their relatives to defend them. __
