Single women, particularly widows and divorcées, who have lived under Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah's rule say his era represents the golden age during which women have been provided with all means necessary to feel secure about their future and that of their children and grandchildren. Jamila Abo Ras, a 60-year-old widow, said ever since King Abdullah ascended the throne, things have changed and improved for women. A large number of programs were launched for women's welfare while many laws were passed to ensure their equal treatment in society, she added. “In the era of King Abdullah, we've seen a woman become deputy minister, better employment prospects and more opportunities to study abroad.” Mona Jaber, 51, said King Abdullah has given his people all they need to feel safe and secure and the reforms he has introduced have improved the living standard of citizens. “Hafiz is just one example of a program that helps citizens. But above all, King Abdullah has dedicated full attention to women's issues and has sought to make their lives easier. He has paid special attention to those women who are divorced or widowed and do not have a guardian to take care of them,” she said. Aisha Hibshi, a 50-year-old divorcée who is raising three daughters and a grandson, said the Monarch has provided several services for women like her to help them overcome the obstacles they are facing. “Loans and social aid were given to women to help them get through their difficult situations. King Abdullah is a real father who loves his citizens. The pledge of allegiance means a lot to me,” said Hibshi. Rahma Zamita, an 80-year-old widow, who is also mother and grandmother, said she has outlived many kings and has noticed one thing: Citizens love King Abdullah very much. “This love does not come from nothing. King Abdullah deserves it for he loves his citizens very much and cares about them. As far as I remember, I've never prayed to God to reward a king for his deeds like I'm praying for King Abdullah, may Allah prolong his life and bestow health upon him.” __
