Jeddah Mayoralty will soon name a street in Quwaiza District after martyr Farman Ali Khan, a Pakistani expat who died saving 14 lives during the Jeddah floods three years ago. In a statement to Al-Madinah newspaper, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Nahari, an official of the mayoralty and the committee for naming streets, said, “The committee agreed unanimously to name a main street at Quwaiza intersection in eastern Jeddah after martyr Farman due to his sacrifices.” The decision will cause much celebration among the Jeddah youth who have launched a Facebook campaign to officially commemorate martyr Farman. Last year, King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, awarded Farman Ali Khan First Rank King Abdulaziz Badge of Honor in recognition of his heroic act.
