A Taif resident has been arrested for intentionally bumping his car into the vehicle his ex-wife was riding in. His ex-wife, a 30-year-old woman, sustained fractures in her spinal cord and her veins got ruptured in addition to suffering contusions in the pelvis and legs. The husband wanted his ex-wife to return him the SR500 he paid as child support to the wife, but she had refused to do so. The woman was on the way to pick up her daughter from school. After the crash, he threatened to kill her and fled. Passersby however jotted down the license plate number and called the police and an ambulance. Sources said that it may take up to six months for her to recover from her fractures. Lt. Col. Turki Al-Shehri, spokesman of Taif Police, said the man is in jail and that his case will be referred to the Bureau of Investigation and Prosecution. __
