Egypt's rising star Malak Koura has been recommended by screenwriter Majdi Saber to play a leading role in the television series “Blood Chain”. Koura plays a girl who studies medicine at the University of Alexandria and gets married to a fellow student, from Upper Egypt, who comes from a different background. This causes problems between the newly weds. The events take place in a village of Sohaj Governorate in 1980, before the assassination of former president Anwar Al-Sadat, and before the revolution last year. The show stars Abla Kamel, Riyadh Al-Khouli, Ola Ghanem and Randa Al-Buhairi. Koura, who still studies drama and arts at the American University of Egypt, has also finished shooting scenes for the short film “Nationality … Egyptian” with actress Nada Basyouni. The film has been nominated to play at four festivals.
