Adel Fakieh, Minister of Labor, Monday emphasized that there are several opportunities for young entrepreneurs to investment in the retail sector. There are about 36 initiatives to support the small enterprises sector, he said. Added to this, he said, are initiatives to develop the sector's capabilities and resources and providing a work environment to enhance its growth. Addressing a workshop entitled “Investment opportunities in the retail sector for young entrepreneurs” organized by the Young Entrepreneurs Committee in Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI), the minister stressed the necessity to create an environment that stimulates the growth of small enterprises through supporting youth devoting all their time to their businesses. The initiative launched for this purpose, he said, is to restrict recruitment and transfer of sponsorship of expatriate workers to enterprises in which the owner is working fulltime or in which there is one Saudi employee. This aims to prevent cover-up (Tasattur) from growing and competing against owners of businesses working fulltime in them.
