The Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA) is inviting entrepreneurs to apply for training to help them open up their own small tourism businesses. According to the website of the SCTA, applicants can from Monday apply to take part in the course, entitled: “How to start your small enterprise in the tourism field”. The course is being run by the SCTA in collaboration with the social responsibility division of National Commercial Bank (NCB), the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) and Saudi Credit and Savings Bank. Dr. Abdullah Bin Sulaiman Al-Wushail, Director General of the National Project for Developing Tourism Human Resources (Takamul), said the program, which is being held at the headquarters of the RCCI, aims to train those interested in investing in small tourism projects. Those who successfully complete the course may be able to secure financing and other support. Al-Wushail expressed his thanks to Prince Sultan Bin Salman Bin Abdul Aziz, Chairman of SCTA for his support of this project. Al-Shuwail said the program is aimed at Saudi nationals of 45 years of age and below, with at least a secondary school certificate. Applicants must pass the interview stage and should have a serious interest in the sector. Applicant should have creative ideas and plans for their tourism enterprise and must show that it is sustainable and can create jobs. Applicants must be ready to start immediately and be available fulltime for the enterprise. The director of the Takamul Project called for those who are interested to visit the SCTA's website and fill in the forms. Registration will be open until March 17. Al-Wushail also thanked the SCTA's partners. The role played by the various companies has ensured that the project has succeeded in the Eastern Province, Al-Qassim and Asir regions, he said.
