Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister Prince Abduz Aziz Bin Abdullah, along with Parliamentary Secretary Palwasha Khan and the Chaiman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Engineer Farkhand Iqbal, laid the foundation stone of a huge Saudi complex in Pakistan's diplomatic enclave where a Saudi school and residential apartments for Saudi diplomatic staff would be constructed. The school building for both boys and girls will cover 9,000-sq-meter meter of land while the residential apartments will be built on a 20,000-sq-meter land. The complex has already been acquired by the Saudi embassy. Prince Abdul Aziz left Islamabad Tuesday after meeting with Pakistani Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said Wednesday. At a joint press conference with the Pakistani foreign minister before leaving this country, Prince Abdul Aziz said he and Khar “exchanged viewpoints and joint vision for dealing with issues and challenges taking place in the global arena.” “We, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, are always keen on coordination and consultation to support our positions ... I reaffirm that this visit is an extension of previous visits between officials of the countries at all levels. I do stress that these visits and contacts will continue at official and popular levels,” Prince Abdul Aziz said. On her part, Khar said: “The visit of Saudi Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs will open new horizons to expand and enhance strong relations between the two countries in all fields.” SPA said she expressed the hope for Saudi Arabia's support “for her country's desire for concluding free trade agreement with Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)”. During his visit, Prince Abdul Aziz met with President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani and a number of federal ministers and discussed with them relations between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan as well as regional and international issues of common concern.
