Germany is a favored destination for Saudis for holidaying and seeking medical treatment in places like Munich, Frankfort and Stuttgart, representing 50 percent of the overnight stays from the entire GCC region. This was stated by a visiting Lufthansa delegation at the residence of Dr. Rolf Theodor Schuster, Consul General of Germany, here recently. “The aim of the visit of the delegation is to enhance the frequency of visits by Saudi tourists to Germany,” Dr. Schuster said. “The relationship between Germany and GCC countries, Saudi Arabia in particular, is very special and important, in terms of bilateral cooperation in various fields including tourism.” Stefan Loecherbach, Director Saudi Arabia and Bahrain for Lufthansa German Airlines and British Midland International said: “Being the second largest city in the Kingdom and a bustling commercial center, Jeddah has a great demand for direct links with central Europe.” __
