Minas Saudi Gazette JEDDAH – Amid robust Saudi economic growth and massive infrastructure and building projects, Mohamed Yousuf Naghi Motors, launched last night the new Hyundai heavy duty cargo & dump truck series in Saudi Arabia. This early, some 35 trucks of the new series are already booked, officials said. The new Hyundai heavy duty truck series launched in the Saudi market mixer truck model HD 370 S with a capacity of 9 m3 for highest quality of ready mixed concrete; cargo truck model HD 600 L for long distance transport; and dump truck model HD 370 S with a capacity of 18 m3. Jin Ho Hwang (middle), General Manager, Hyundai Commercial Vehicle Africa & Middle East Regional Headquarters, expressed his optimism despite a “tense market” and “challenging times”, saying that Hyundai heavy duty trucks are competing closely with their European counterparts in terms of quality, performance and endurance. He told the Saudi Gazette he expects some 1,000 units of the new Hyundai heavy duty trucks will be sold this year in Saudi Arabia alone. Last year Hyundai sold some 500 units of the older series in the Kingdom. Hyundai heavy trucks division aspires to be in the top 5 for trucks worldwide by 2016, he added. Sheikh Mohamed Yousuf Naghi, Chairman for the Mohamed Yousuf Naghi Group, said “the comprehensive economic boom and development of Saudi Arabia, which was laid out by the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques and his the Crown Prince … continuously raises the demand on various types of trucks to meet the increasing demand of construction and transport sectors.” He added that Mohamed Yousuf Naghi Motors, in collaboration with Hyundai Motors Company - Trucks and Heavy Machinery Division, “are very keen to constantly meet our customers' needs and requirements.” Hazem Jamjoom, Executive Director at Mohamed Yusuf Naghi Motors - Trucks Division, said “the high demand for transport trucks in the Saudi market needs highly sophisticated and heavy duty transport trucks to keep pace with evolving development of construction boom,” noting that the company is “very keen to contribute in meeting the need of the Saudi business sector for heavy duty trucks that can be used in various work areas.” As for the price of each unit, Fayyaz Sarwar Mirza, COO of Yousuf M.A. Naghi & Sons Group, told the Gazette that studies are being conducted at present to determine the right price vis-à-vis the competitors. He added that the Group plans to build another five workshops for the heavy trucks in strategic locations across the Kingdom within this year, to add to the seven workshops that are operational. __
