Tiger Woods set himself up for a real shot at his first PGA Tour win in over two years by grabbing a share of the lead after the second round of the Arnold Palmer Invitational Friday. Woods, who shot a bogey-free round of 65, and South Korean Charlie Wi reached the halfway point level at ten-under par, a stroke ahead of Northern Ireland's Graeme McDowell and in-form American Jason Dufner. Former world No. 1 Woods has not won on the Tour since his victory in the BMW Championship in September, 2009, but has already racked up six titles on the Bay Hill course. Wi, who shared the overnight lead with Dufner, birdied four of the last six holes to remain tied at the top of the leaderboard. World No. 17 McDowell produced a sparkling nine-under 63 to put himself in contention for what promises to be a fascinating weekend. McDowell, the 2010 US Open champion, was also bogey-free and notched seven birdies, and an eagle at the par-five 16th. His 63, one shy of the course record, was in marked contrast to last year when he slumped to an ugly 80 in the opening round. Dufner returned a 69 to join McDowell on nine under. England's Justin Rose carded a second 69 and is four shots behind the leaders after bogeys on the eighth and ninth restricted his progress. Spain's Sergio Garcia also showed promising pre-US Masters form when a 67 put him on 139 along with American Bubba Watson (70). Tseng seizes LPGA lead In California, world No. 1 Yani Tseng, a winner in two of four starts this year, fired a four-under par 68 to seize a two-stroke lead after the second round of the $1.7 million LPGA Kia Classic. Taiwan's Tseng, a favorite in next week's first major event of the year at Rancho Mirage, sank an 18-foot birdie putt on the 18th green to finish 36 holes on nine-under par 135, two strokes ahead of South Korean Pak Se-ri. A group sharing third place on 139 included England's Jodi Ewart, Sweden's Caroline Hedwall, American Alison Walshe and South Korean Jiyai Shin. Tseng seeks her 15th career title and second in as many weeks. She has already defended a title in Thailand and captured the LPGA Founders Cup last week. Last year, Tseng won 12 titles worldwide in a breakout season, seven of them in LPGA events and two at majors. She was second last year at Rancho Mirage to American Stacy Lewis. Tseng birded the par-5 third and par-4 fourth and fifth holes Friday but stumbled with back-to-back bogeys on the par-5 seventh and par-3 eighth.
