of-the-art general hospitals with a total capacity of 1,830 beds will soon be operational in the governorate, according to Prince Misha'l Bin Majed Bin Abdul Aziz, Governor of Jeddah. Talking to Okaz/Saudi Gazette, Prince Misha'l said a new 500-bed north Jeddah hospital will soon start receiving patients after being staffed with highly-qualified Saudi and non-Saudi staff. “This hospital in Obhor District will serve citizens in north Jeddah.” A new 400-bed maternity and children's hospital is also being built near this hospital. “The new hospital offers all medical specialties needed for women and children.” There is also a new 500-bed mental health hospital to be built on Makkah Road, Prince Misha'l added. He said the new expansion of King Fahd Hospital in Al-Mosadiya District is about to finish and will be able to provide more services to the general public. “The new expansion adds 230 beds to the current 740 beds.” Another new health project is the Eye Hospital in Asfan Region with a capacity of 200 beds, Prince Misha'l announced.
