Coordination between the Saudi Ministries of Health and Finance is in process to endorse SR153 million allocated for buying 40 plots of land in Jeddah. The real estate will have new health centers built on them, with 22 sites having been selected within the city, while 18 others on the city's outskirts are being studied. Dr. Sami Badawood, Director of Jeddah Health Department said a number of projects are being executed, including the 500-bed-capacity Specialist Hospital in Northern Jeddah, Eastern Jeddah's Hospital with a 300-bed capacity, and a Psychiatric Hospital. He added that projects also include a number of medical towers in each of the hospitals of King Fahd, Eye and Maternity. Other projects are kidney and diabetes specialist centers in each of King Fahd hospital, Tumors Center and Regional Laboratory. Badawood added that developmental projects are being carried out in the hospitals of King Fahd, King Abdul Aziz and King Saud, in addition to the Tumors Center and hospitals of Al-Azeziyah Maternity, Psychiatric Health and Eye. – Okaz __
