Retief Goosen felt so much pain in his lower back that he decided to pull out of next week's tournament and get treatment. One day later, he found himself atop the leaderboard in the Transitions Championship. Goosen ran off three straight birdies late in his round Saturday for a 6-under 65, giving him a share of the lead with Jim Furyk with more than just another US PGA Tour victory at stake. Sunday is Goosen's last chance to qualify for the Masters. Furyk, coming off his worst season since he was a rookie, hit a 6-iron to 3 feet for birdie on the par-3 15th hole and had the lead to himself until a three-putt bogey up a steep slope on the 18th. He had a 66. The two past champions at Innisbrook were at 11-under 202, with plenty of others behind them. Nine of the 20 players separated by four shots going into the final round are not eligible for the Masters. A win comes with an automatic invitation. The group includes Chris DiMarco and former US PGA champion Shaun Micheel. Goosen started the third round five shots behind Jason Dufner, who had a 70. Bae Sang-moon is one shot behind with Dufner. Ernie Els had a 68 and was only three shots behind. So was Luke Donald, who can return to No. 1 in the world by winning at Innisbrook. Padraig Harrington has been dropping shots since his course-record 61 on Thursday. He had a 72, yet still was only four behind. Miyazato, Tseng share lead In Phoenix, Arizona, Ai Miyazato reeled off three birdies in a row on the back nine en route to a six-under 66 that left her tied for the lead with world No. 1 Yani Tseng Saturday in the LPGA Founders Cup. Japan's Miyazato, owner of seven LPGA tour titles, birdied three in a row from the 14th and had six birdies overall in a bogey-free round that gave her a 14-under total of 202. Weather could play a big role Sunday, when temperatures are expected to drop and rain and stronger winds are forecast. Overnight leader Tseng had a chance to regain the outright lead on the par-four 18th. Her shot from a fairway bunker gave her a 10-foot birdie putt, but it slipped by on the left. She finished with a 67 for 202. The leaders were one shot in front of world number two Na Yeon Choi of South Korea, who carded a 67 for 203. It was another two shots back to South Korea's I.K. Kim, who posted a 69 for 205, and South Korea's Inbee Park was on 206 after a 69. Defending champion Karr Webb of Australia posted a 70 to head a group sharing sixth on nine-under 207.
