Etihad Etisalat Company (Mobily), in its ordinary general meeting held in Riyadh Sunday approved the recommendation of the Board of Directors to distribute a cash dividend of SR1,400 million for the second half of 2011 (SR2 per share), in addition to the already distributed initial dividend of SR875 million for the first half of 2011 (SR1.25 per share). The total dividend for 2011 reached SR2,275 million (SR3.25 per share), representing 44.75 percent of the company's net profits in the same year. Dividend will be paid by April 1 this year through direct transfer to the bank accounts linked to the investment portfolios of the shareholders. The assembly also authorized the engagement of United Electronics Co. (eXtra) as a distributor for Etihad Etisalat Company (Mobily). It also approved the appointment of Eng. Abdulrahman Alfehaid as a member of the Board of Directors replacing Dr. Fahad Almubarak for the remaining period of the current office of the Board, which will end on Nov. 30, 2012. Separately, Mobily announced a new offer for its Smart package whereby new subscribers get free Blackberry service for three months from the first day of service activation. This offer is valid until June 8, and the package is available at all Mobily branches across the Kingdom. The package offers calls at SR0.30 per minute to any network in the Kingdom, national SMS at SR 0.25 and international SMS at SR 0.50.
