Mesfat district, Mansour Makeen, has concluded a cooperation agreement with the Hemaya Association to provide rehabilitation programs, training and outreach to domestic abuse victims in South Jeddah and provide them with economic, psychological and social protection. Under the agreement signed by Samira Al-Ghamdi, Chairwoman of the Hemaya Association, and Makeen, the parties will provide education, training and qualification courses to domestic abuse victims. The rehab society is a charity that deals with domestic violence and works on reducing it by rehabilitating and treating the victims and their families. It holds awareness programs on domestic violence and cooperates with official bodies like the Committee of Social Protection and the Ministry of Social Affairs. Last Monday, it met with 170 domestic abuse victims at Hifz Al-Nemah Center. It discussed the definitions of the association, its services and the need for anti-violence mechanisms and registration for those that need support and rehabilitation. Gifts were distributed at the end of the meeting. __
