King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Jeddah and the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland will host the third surgery conference here from March 5 to 7. The event is being held under the patronage of Dr. Qasim Bin Othman Al-Qasabi, Executive Supervisor of King Faisal Specialist Hospital. An elite group of specialists in the field of surgery from European and Arab countries will take part in the event. The program includes the presentation of 50 research papers on the future of surgery, endoscopy and its impact on training programs. There will also be a discussion of the latest developments and modern techniques in the treatment of diseases of the esophagus, liver, pancreas, colon and rectum. The delegates will discuss treatment for breast tumors and organ transplantation for patients with cancer of the liver and bile ducts. There will also be discussions on vascular surgery, radiation therapy for cardiovascular diseases and obesity. A number of anesthetists will be present to talk about new technology to reduce post-surgical pain. __
