The Board of Directors of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) tendered its resignation soon after the Saudi team's World Cup 2014 dream ended with a 4-2 defeat at the hands of Australia Wednesday. The board apologized to the public for the unfortunate results despite the availability of resources, a SAFF statement said. A caretaker administration has been named to pave the way for early elections by the federation's general assembly. The caretaker body will work under the chairmanship of Ahmad Bin Eid Al-Harbi. It will consist of the following members: Tariq Bin Abdul Rahman Kayal, Ahmad Bin Abdul Rahman Al-Khamees, Muhammad Bin Saleh Al-Sarrah, Nasser Bin Huwaidi Al-Shammari, Ibrahim Bin Fahd Al-Rabadi and Musslih Bin Hadi Aal Musallam. All the SAFF committees and administrations as well as the secretariat general, technical and administrative staff of the national team will continue carrying out their work until the formation of the next Board of Directors, it added.
