Program to mold Saudi youth as future business leaders set
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 27 - 02 - 2012

The development plans set by the Saudi government to establish scientific centers in schools and universities are a core factor for achieving development in the country. Many academic institutions have contributed to help this come true, where many public and private educational bodies assured their commitment to the directions of King Abdullah, Custodian of Two Holy Mosques, in order to achieve positive outcomes for the benefit of the citizens and the nation.
Along this line, one of the Saudi Arabia-based schools has entered into an agreement with the renowned international Franklin Covey Foundation to adopt "The Leader in Me" model, one of the practical educational approaches to help unleash and promote the student's lifestyle and full potential to excel in the 21st century.
"We are proud to say that Dar Al Thikr Schools for Boys is the first school in the Saudi Arabia to adopt "The Leader in Me" model", said Dr. Ahmad Al-Jazaery, CEO of Dar Al Thikr Schools. "Currently applied in various schools across the US, Singapore and the rest of the world, this educational program has received an overwhelming response among students, parents, teachers and schools. As so, our participation in the International Exhibition & Forum for Education 2012 (IEFE 2012) will mainly revolve around the successful application of this program across Dar Al Thikr Schools."
"The program tends to build the students' fragile self-confidence and equip them with the necessary capabilities and skills to achieve leadership and success against the many challenges in the 21st century. 'The Leader in Me' supportively becomes part of the school's curriculum and culture, allowing the student to achieve excellent results year after year. It further underpins the students' ability to lead their own lives and influence others by helping them take the right decisions and choices," he added.
With the aim of producing well-capable students, Dar Al Thikr Schools offers an advanced academic and educational approach that offers effective programs focusing on the students' thinking skills in a safe and motivational learning environment characterized with positive social ties, constructive empathy and various sources of information. It also focuses on the use of modern technologies and social and educational outreach through self-learning and collaborative learning.
"In line with our ultimate mission and objectives, we have always adopted excellent programs that would help elevate our students' lives and personalities in all fields of life, such as the 'The Leader in Me' model. We are honored to say that Dar Al Thikr Schools is the first in the Saudi Arabia to adopt such a program by applying the Seven Habits model, where these habits represent the social means to instill success into the targeted minds", Dr. Ahmad pointed out.
