‘Shock' your senses with Shakelicious

Tired of those boring plain vanilla, strawberry and chocolate milkshakes? Well, J-town's very own luscious shake shop, Shakelicious, will definitely make you crave more for its rich, creamy shakes. Located in Khalidiya district on Rawdah Street it is cozily tucked away right behind McDonalds. Its funky exterior is sure to catch your eyes, and once inside it is bound to enchant you with its colorful interior, cheery ambience, not to mention those arrays of mouth-watering goodies.
While taking a walk with his wife in the bustling city of London, Mothana Al-Saad, Founder of Shakelicious milkshakes and smoothies, stumbled across a few milkshake bars, where classic milkshakes and smoothies were being given a new look and a distinctive taste which had people's taste buds screaming for more.
“We tried their shakes, immediately fell in love with their concept and decided to start our own brand,” said Al-Saad. Thus, Shakelicious was born in US in 2009; its success prompted them to go over the border and they opened their second branch in Jeddah in July this year.
Their concept is simple – they will blend everything you like in your milkshakes from your favorite chocolate bars, candies, cakes and sweets to fresh fruits. Chocoholics have over 40 well-known brands like Aero, bounty, Ferro Rocher, etc. to choose from and for all the candy frenzy people you can whip up Gummy bears, Happy Cola Bottles, Luxury cream fudge, Marshmallows or skittles in your shake. If that wasn't enough to give your taste buds a real spur you can go ahead and ask them to mix your favorite cookie flavor — Bourbon Creams, Oreos, Wagon Wheels to Digestives or Ginger Snaps. And, then again if you are not a great cereal fan then mixing them up with your milkshakes will definitely change your mind; Apple Jacks, Cinnamon Toast, Nesquik, Rice Krispies, few brands to name, will surely give your pallets a delicious crunch.
For all the weight conscious people out there, just ‘shake' in your favorite fruit to rob you off the guilt of indulging into those delectable shakes.
Milkshakes and smoothies without toppings are like dinners without desserts! So, ask for swirls of whip cream or a drizzle of hot chocolate, strawberry or caramel sauce. You can even ask them to throw nuts, sprinklers or marshmallows on top to make it look more appealing and tempting. “Our best seller is Maltesers and Kinder Bueno topped with Nesquik Cereal and Chocolate sauce, and when it comes to smoothies nothing shakes your taste buds more than our Mixed Berries,” Al-Saad exclaimed.
“Snicker is my favorite chocolate and so I brought a snicker milkshake. I have fallen in love with it. It is so heavenly,” Maryam Nisar told the Saudi Gazette while sipping into her snicker milkshake. Ameen, a young boy of 18 who was drinking his Galaxy milkshake was already choosing another flavor to buy on his next trip. “It's so good. This is third time I'm coming here in two weeks and I just can't get over it,” he told us excitedly. Apart from it one can also enjoy various types of coffees and hot chocolate sundaes. Their upcoming menu boasts of fresh juices, ice cream sundaes with chocolate bars or fruits, fresh baked cookies and a lot more.
Inspired by “Shakeway” the original re-inventers of milkshakes, who now dominate the European market, Shakelicious will soon dominate the neighboring Arab countries for they plan to expand their operations by opening three more branches in Jeddah, Riyadh, Eastern Province and Dubai by the end of this year.
Reasonably priced, their shakes surely have an upper hand in that sector, too. A glass of milkshake or smoothie at Shakelicious is not only appetizing, but is worth every penny, every drop, not to mention every calorie.
“We promise you the best milkshakes in the world,” said Al-Saad, proudly. And, they surely do!
