JEDDAH – Three weeks of lectures on preventing child abuse are currently being held by the Hemayah Society, according to Samira Al-Ghamdi, chairman of the organization's board of directors. The lectures are for teachers, mothers and businesswomen, said Al-Ghamdi. A child abuse prevention program is being applied at Alhamraa Private School, she added. Dr. Fatimah Alaqeel, vice chairperson of the society, said the organization is trying to ensure that private and government bodies work together to tackle the problem. Ghadah Bostanji, head of the social services commission, stressed that the program is being implemented by a group of specialists. __
