Okaz IF the security and safety departments at the Ministry of Education received 324 reports on the condition of school buildings during two months of the past academic year, 205 were high-risk reports, 6 of which required immediate evacuation of school premises. If this is the case, this means that the Ministry of Education does not have an easy task to accomplish during the summer vacation. The ministry does not have the excuse, as long as the vacation is of a length that enables some departments and institutions to establish complete projects and not just mend old projects or temporarily fix some damages. It is customary every year for some schools to open their doors to students and announce a new start of the academic year, while the construction and maintenance equipment is still going and work in these schools is incomplete, either because it started late or because the contractor did not have the competence to complete his work on time. Many schools need a lot of reforms, and the Ministry of Education has a lot of time and all we hope for is not to start the new year before repairing some schools.
