Okaz/Saudi Gazette RIYADH — The Shoura Council has demanded the National Anti-Corruption Commission (Nazaha) study corruption in the private sector and its effects on the public sector. At a session chaired by the council's president Abdullah Al-Alsheikh on Tuesday, the Shoura proposed cooperation with the Ministry of Labor and Social Development to establish non-governmental organizations that serve multiple purposes including the fight against corruption. The council also proposed designing programs for strategic partnerships with the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs and the Ministry of Culture and Information. These programs will promote the values of integrity and transparency in schools, religious institutions and media programs. The council urged the commission to cooperate with the pertinent authorities to uphold the Kingdom's international reputation when it comes to transparency and the fight against corruption. The council urged the Ministry of Commerce and Investment to cooperate with the chambers of commerce and industry and the Council of Saudi Chambers to increase the administrative quality of commercial establishments. The council urged the General Presidency of the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques to take steps to improve the performance of guides and directors in the two holy mosques. The council also asked the presidency to ensure that measures are taken to avoid crowding and related problems in the holy mosques during the last 10 days of Ramadan.
