JEDDAH – Minister of Commerce and Investment Majed Al-Qasabi and Minister of Finance Muhammad Al-Jadaan on Monday launched the "Eltzam' electronic service to facilitate procedures pertaining to government transactions for the benefit of private sector companies and establishments. This service is one of the major initiatives of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to boost e-transactions under the National Transformation Program of 2020 and a major headway in achieving e-transaction goal of the Kingdom's Vision 2030. Deputy Minister of Commerce and Investment Majed Al-Bawardi said that Eltzamat enables government agencies to provide single window integrated and instant online services. On his part, Ahmad Al-Suwayyan, undersecretary for technical and development affairs at the Ministry of Finance, said Eltzamat service was successfully experimented in the Ministry of Finance as well as in the General Authority of Zakat and Tax and Customs Department. Eltzam aims to facilitate the procedures for business firms' with regard to government transactions and enable government agencies to electronically verify the level of business establishment's commitment to the procedures, regulations and the laws, in collaboration with various official bodies through a single platform containing up to date and accurate information in order to create a healthy business environment. The service allows government agencies to verify any business firm's compliance with the respective laws without approaching the relevant authorities and without requesting printed identification papers or certificates. This service assists the government agencies to be aware of valuable information that contribute to achieve more accurate and easier performance, like the exact legal positions of commercial registrations, the membership of Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Zakat and Income certificate, Saudization Certificate, Nitaqat status of firms, municipal license, and other vital information.
