DETECON Al Saudia Co. Ltd (Detasad), a Saudi-German partnership between FAL Holding and Detecon International and Deutsche Telekom Group Company, will officially launch Sahaba Secure Enterprise Cloud at an event in Kempinski Burj Rafal today (May 22). Justin Tacy, director Detecon Innovation Institute in the Silicon Valley (US), in his keynote speech, will analyze latest technology trends and their potential contribution to the Vision 2030. The event will be chaired by German Ambassador Dieter W. Haller. Speaking before the launch of Sahaba secure enterprise cloud, Felix Wass, Detasad president, said: "We aim to be a key contributor to the achievement of the ambitious plans of Vision 2030 and the National Transformation Plan 2020." "We believe that innovation, flexible pricing and costing models, a strong focus on quality paired with unique capabilities to develop, implement and operate end-to-end ICT solutions from physical infrastructure to Business Intelligence and application layer allow us to provide specific value to our public and private sector clients" said Felix. The Detasad Sahaba cloud offering forms a key component and platform in achieving this aim. "Sahaba — Secure Enterprise Cloud" is an OpenStack based cloud solution developed in a strategic partnership between Detasad and Red Hat on a Dell reference architecture. "The adoption of Sahaba by several major Saudi corporations allowed them to reduce operational costs, increase their agility and together with Detasad professional services reduced deployment times for new applications significantly while ensuring that all data remains in the Kingdom," Wass said. He said that security has been designed into Sahaba as integral part rather than an optional component and afterthought. "The global cyberattacks over the last two weeks confirm again that our significant investments in security and our own Security Operations Center will provide our Sahaba clients with investment and consumer protection and service uptime hardly achievable on conventional on-premise solutions or which are offered by public cloud providers," he noted.
