Saudi Gazette report
MORE than 100 chief executives and leaders of the most influential companies from Saudi Arabia and the US have confirmed their attendance for the inaugural Saudi-US.CEO Forum in Riyadh on Saturday.
Over 50 US companies, more than 40 Saudi companies and 9 companies from key international markets are now due to attend the forum, which will feature a ministerial panel moderated by Bloomberg's Francine Lacqua. Lubna Olayan, CEO of Olayan Financing Company and Andrew Liveris, chairman and CEO of Dow Chemical, will co-chair the Saudi-US CEO forum in its permanent form from the Saudi and US side respectively.
Coinciding with the historic visit by the US President Donald Trump to Saudi Arabia, the forum will build on the successful bilateral relationship aiming to create new private sector opportunities and facilitate ease of business between Saudi Arabia and the United States under the theme of ‘partnership for generations'.
Key forum participants for the ministerial panel and roundtables were also confirmed for the Saudi government, including Dr. Majid Al-Qassabi, minister of commerce and investment; Khalid Al-Falih, minister of energy, industry and mineral resources; Mohammed Al-Jadaan, minister of finance; Ali Al-Ghafis, minister of labour and social development; Ahmed Al-Khatib, chairman of the Board, Saudi Fund for Development; Yasir Al-Rumayyan, managing director of Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund; Mohammad Al-Tuwaijri, deputy minister of economy and planning; Dr. Ahmed Al-Kholifey, governor of the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority.
The ministerial panel will outline further details of Saudi Arabia's vision and transformation across all levels of society and economy, including new commercial opportunities presented by this week's state visit. The strategic partnerships resulting from the forum will deliver benefits in the Saudi economy and opportunities for success.
The focus of the four roundtable discussions will be:
Privatization and reforms in Saudi Arabia, including new efforts to diversify the Saudi economy and increase US participation in key sectors.
A discussion on industrial capacity building which will identify global best practices to boost the US role in
supporting Saudi Arabia's industrial capacity building.
A discussion on boosting business investment and partnerships, with a focus on sharing success stories from other key markets.
Looking specifically at institutional investors, Saudi and US business leaders will discuss how the global investment landscape has evolved, and how private sector investment can support the Saudi-US investment partnership.
Held under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, the Saudi-US CEO Forum aims to develop actionable partnerships, collaboration and investment opportunities catalyzed by the Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 to create jobs and drive economic diversification.
