JEDDAH — Knights of Coach Rey Maddatu defeated Movenpick 99-93 to bag the Group B Championship Trophy of the Titan Watch-JBL Basketball Tournament at the Nazeeh and Wartah (AlBaik) Park in Khalidia here. Knights played strong in the first half as their run and gun offense was unstoppable. The loser tried its best but the winner wisely played out the time to win the championship. Garcia scored 29 points for the winner and was adjudged the Titan Watch best player of the game, while Ancheta had 19 points for the losers. This tournament is principally sponsored by Titan Watch of Al-Hussaini & Al-Yahya Investment Group (Othman Al-Hussaini) with the co-sponsor Giordano Fashions (Ahmadullah) and Ric Printing. During the awarding ceremony which was led by Mohammed Rasheed, Baba Ahmad Peradilla of Jeddah Dawah Center handed over the trophies and Giordano gifts. The awardees: 40 and above Division: Wasalak 40s — champion, R Printing — 1st runner-up, JDC Veterans — 2nd runner-up and Khalidia 40's — 3rd runner-up. The elite mythical five: Calluen – JDC Veterans, Abet Batalon – Khalidia 40's, Migz Diaz – R Printing, Obando – Wasalak 40's and Brian – Wasalak 40's. Fred Conception of Wasalak 40's was awarded the Best Coach prize, while Aquino (Wasalak 40's) was adjudged the Most Valuable Player (MVP). Non-rated Group A Division: Al-Arabi — champion, Sunbullah Meat — 1st runner-up, Blazers — 2nd runner-up and Tetra Pak — 3rd runner-up. Norman Quito of Al Arabi was awarded the Best Coach prize, while De Boss of Al-Arabi was adjudged the Most Valuable Player (MVP).
