Napoli got back to winning ways in Serie A with a comfortable 2-0 win against Chievo Verona while struggling Siena stunned Roma with a 1-0 victory. Miguel Britos headed Napoli in front in the 15th minute and top scorer Edinson Cavani doubled its lead with a penalty eight minutes from halftime to give the team only its second league win in 2012. Siena moved away from the relegation zone after Emanuele Calaio's second-half penalty against Roma. It is now five points clear of 18th-placed Lecce, with a game in hand. Napoli started brightly and Ezequiel Lavezzi had two half chances in the opening five minutes, but the Argentine miskicked the first woefully wide and his second attempt flew over the bar. The home side took the lead in the 15th minute when Britos headed in a corner at the near post. Chievo's first real chance came on the half hour mark when Gennaro Sardo picked out Sergio Pellisier, who unleashed a low shot which didn't really trouble Napoli goalkeeper Morgan De Sanctis. Napoli doubled its advantage seconds after Cavani muscled his way into the area and miskicked a shot. Although he won the ball back, it looked like he had missed his opportunity but Siena goalkeeper Stefano Sorrentino brought down the Uruguayan and the referee pointed to the spot. Cavani stepped up and drilled his effort into the bottom left corner, sending Sorrentino the wrong way, for his 13th goal of the season. It was almost worse for Chievo shortly after the break but Sorrentino pulled off a fine save to keep out Walter Gargano's powerful long-range attempt. In Siena, Roma dominated much of the game but once again couldn't turn its possession into goals, and it looked a far cry from the side that had beaten Inter Milan 4-0 just over a week ago. However, that is now the capital side's only victory in six games. Siena broke the deadlock seven minutes into the second half after Simon Kjaer, who had just come off the bench, tripped Destro in the area and Calaio converted the resulting penalty. Roma tried in vain to get the equalizer but could not find a way past a solid Siena defense. Sociedad beats Sevilla Real Sociedad needed two second-half goals to secure a 2-0 victory over Sevilla, spoiling new coach Jose Miguel “Michel” Gonzalez's debut for the Andalucian club. Carlos Vela was set up by Imanol Agirretxe for a 64th-minute opener, and the Mexico striker fed Ruben Pardo four minutes later for the second at the Anoeta stadium. Sociedad moved one point above Sevilla, which is now winless in eight games with three straight losses. Michel replaced Marcelino Garcia Toral at the Spanish club, which is just three points above the drop zone. Real Madrid beat Levante 4-2 Sunday to open up a 10-point lead over Barcelona at the top of the table.
