IN line with the Kingdom's Vision 2030 and as part of Makkah's Cultural Forum's initiative on "How to be a Role Model", launched by Prince Khaled Al Faisal, advisor to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Emir of Makkah, Red Sea Mall (RSM) recently honored 100 Saudi productive families under the "Productive Families Kiosks" project which was initiated by Red Sea Mall in cooperation with the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI). The initiative was carried out under the "My Career, My Decision" – "Sana'ty Byadi" slogan, to develop hand-made products. Red Sea Mall's "Productive Families Kiosks" initiative coincided with the launch of Makkah's Cultural Forum Initiative "How to be a Role Model" serving the government's strategic goal in developing human capabilities and advancing economic development in the region.
The project is a cultural project that targets all segments of the society through series of events supervised by the Makkah Region and is also implemented by all government and private sectors in accordance with a comprehensive plan that reflects the goals of the Makkah region in nurturing the human being and enhancing their abilities to develop the region.
"All productive families received our significant support throughout the year and the result was crowned by their achievement of high profits. This effort in creating a program to support productive families has had huge positive results. We are proud to have served up to 100 families, where they could do business and see the fruits of their commercial project among future small and medium enterprises, supported by the National Transformation Program 2020. The state of Makkah also offered their support under its cultural project "How to be a Role Model". We believe that each of the 100 families will inspire other similar families to challenge themselves," said Mohamed Iqbal Alawi, CEO of Red Sea Markets Company Ltd, the owning company of Red Sea Mall. The initiative helped families display and sell their products for a period of 3 days. Which received substantial turnout on the hand-made products produced by those families. A wide variety of goods were presented, such as crocheting works, canvas embroideries, ornaments, chocolate cooking, as well as production of pepper, pickles, biscuits, sweets and many others.
"The "Productive Families Kiosks" project succeeded in building new businesses for many families, under the initiative. We are pleased and proud of this achievement we offered to our local families. We will continue to support similar initiatives due to its positive effect on the society especially that it is also in line with the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which calls for diversifying sources of income. We, are also certain of achieving further success in this field," said Zyad Al Bassam, vice president of Jeddah's Chamber of Commerce. The families expressed their gratitude to the support of the Red Sea Mall and Jeddah Chamber of Commerce for the initiative. They also thanked all the people behind this project for giving them the opportunity to sell their products and get acquainted with the consumers and the local market, as well as for the profits earned throughout the initiative.
