RIYADH – All India United Society (AIUS) has assured its full support and cooperation to the Indian Embassy during the 90 days amnesty period. AIUS organized a meeting with Counselor Anil Nautiyal and First Secretary Venkateswaran Narayanan at Ritz Carlton to discuss the arrangements made by the embassy. Nautiyal, who was the chief guest on the occasion, praised the efforts of the AIUS to help fellow Indians in distress. He said AIUS members are always ready to extend support to the needy Indians. He specifically mentioned their assistance during the layoffs faced by Saudi Oger employees. AIUS volunteers visited their camps and offered food and other necessary items. He said that Embassy of India is thankful to all the organizations, which are doing excellent work for the welfare of Indian community. On this occasion Narayanan, guest of honor, said, AIUS is always ready to help support Indian Embassy's schemes for the welfare of the community. During the past years they have done exemplary work by organizing many programs, which has been beneficial to the community. He thanked Dr. Mohammed Ashraf Ali and AIUS for organizing a meeting. Dr. Mohammed, president of AIUS, welcomed the gathering and congratulated Nautiyal on being promoted as the counselor and said AIUS is always ready to help any Indian and support Indian Embassy's efforts in the welfare of the community. He thanked Nautiyal and Narayanan for accepting his invitation on a very short notice. Ghazanfar Ali Khan, Bureau Chief, Arab News and Mir Mohsin Ali, attended as special guests. Earlier, the AIUS team presented flower bouquets to Nautiyal and Narayanan. Wali Ur Rahman, Mohammed Shakeel, Mohammed Taher, Mohammed Azizuddin, Syed Khaled Kareem, Shoeb Mohiuddin, Mohammed Javed Ali, Mohammed Nayeem, Ghulam Khan, executive member, AIUS from Rajasthan, were also present. Ghulam Khan was presented the Rajasthani Pagadi (turban). It is used as a mark of respect and is a 200-year-old custom. Mohammed Rafeeq also spoke on the occasion and proposed the vote of thanks.
