Saudi Gazette JEDDAH — Pakistan is the pride of Muslim world and every one prays for its solidarity, peace and integrity said Dr. Ali Al-Ghamdi, ex-Saudi diplomat, renowned intellectual and scholar in his presidential address at the function organized by Pakistan Repatriation Council (PRC) on 77th anniversary of Pakistan National Day celebrations at VIP hall of Mehran here. A large number of distinguished members from Pakistani community, speakers, poets, journalists and Saudi Mohammed Al-Ghamdi attended the event. Al-Ghamdi congratulated the audience on the grand occasion and said in 11th Century a renowned Arab scholar Ahmed Baiyroni wrote in one of his remarkable book "Critical Studies of India" in which he revealed that Hindus and Muslims are two distinct nations and cannot live together so that was the seed sowed for the two-nation theory. He reminded that Pakistan has to take care of the ignored citizens languishing in Bangladesh since 1971. There is no justification to leave them unattended. He said it is the primary responsibility of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to arrange their repatriation and resettle them in Pakistan. Chief guest Neaz Ahmed, president Pakistan Writer Forum (PWF), shed light on pre-1940s history in which he said when Congress took power they tried to eliminate Muslims from government jobs, education and other privileges which painted an insecure future. Even the judiciary failed to give them justice, rather strengthened the killers that led to massacre of Bengal, Bihar, Sindh in which both sides lost lives, but the Hindu leadership did not realize the situation. So Jinnah accepted the idea of Allama Iqbal for an Islamic state. He said we must teach the new generation the reason for creation of Pakistan. Raja Zareen Khan, member Jammu Kashmir Community Overseas (JKCO), Tayyab Mosani, general secretary Memon Welfare Society (MWS), Asif Butt, member Engineer Welfare Forum (EWF) noted scholar Tariq Mahmood, Shamsuddin Altaf, Akram Aga, Sheikh Luqman and members of Pakistani community, praised the leadership of Muhammad Ali Jinnah and stated that on this very day of March 23, 1940, the Muslims of subcontinent adopted a resolution to establish an independent state on the basis of the basis of two-nation theory. They thanked Dr. Ali Al-Ghamdi for joining the function and supporting the cause of Kashmiris and stranded Pakistanis. They also urged the repatriation and rehabilitation of stranded Pakistanis in Pakistan. Convener Syed Ehsan-ul-Haque said Pakistan was created on the basis of two-nation theory, so the Muslims from India migrated to East Pakistan and not to Bangladesh, which was established on Bangali language after splitting from an Islamic republic. He said on that basis Kashmir should be part of Pakistan and stranded Pakistanis in Bangladesh should be brought back to the country. We also condemn atrocities on Rakhine Muslims done by the Myanmar government and Buddhists, he added. Earlier, the function started with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Shamsuddin Altaf. Renowned poets Syed Mohsin Alvi, Noushad Usman presented poems on the struggle of Pakistan. Sher Afzal thrilled the audience by singing a national song on Pakistan.
