Social activists and Deccan NRI (Non-Resident Indians) Group members have recently felicitated Mir Gazanfar Ali Zaki, General Secretary of Indian Youth Welfare Association (IYWA), for being in the forefront of several Indian organizations and welfare associations, at their annual meeting here recently. Zaki has held several prominent positions in these groups and has contributed to the Indian community in various fields, including sports, education, health, technical and community welfare. His efforts in the repatriation of dead compatriots to their homeland were lauded. During the meeting, the group reviewed and planned its activities. The president of the Hyderabad-based group, Syed Abdul Quadeer Khalid, highlighted the organization's charitable activities, especially their drive to help poor families marry off their daughters in the southern Indian state, and other welfare activities taken up by the group. M.A. Naeem, reservation manager of Air India, Jeddah was the chief guest while Mohammed Javeed, country manager of Brunei Airlines, presided over the event. IYWA patron Syed Namath Hussain, Ameen Ansari, Urdu News and Deccan NRI Group Vice President Abdul Basith also spoke during the occasion. General Secretary Mir Shakeeb Ali Ramiz presented the vote of thanks and Syed Abdul Quadeer Khalid anchored the function.
